Samuel Gawith & Company has been a producer of fine, premium tobacco products since 1792. Holding steadfast with integrity of process and tradition much of the equipment and methodology employed remains the same as it has been since the company's inception. They don't rush or modify the production process, which creates a unique smoking product, abet limited in availability at times. In 2015 Samuel Gawith & Company merged (machinery, employees, and processes) with Gawith Hoggarth, with each still producing singularly individual lines of product.

A local pipe-smoker asked Samuel Gawith to make up a blend (he could't locate his regular mixture); he found the resulting mixture to be "Perfection". Perfection falls into the unusual category of the "aromatic English" blend. Sweet Virginias, both golden and brown, are combined with a small amount of Latakia and steamed. A condimental amount of smooth vanilla is added before the final inclusion of fine Turkish leaf.
